Le Fromager by Fromager d'Affinois
Auvergne - Rhône-Alpes
Le Fromager is one of the creamiest French cheeses and is produced in the heart of the Rhône Valley. Although similar in appearance to a brie with its white and soft outside, and creamy interior, Le Fromager is gentler in flavor.
Das solltest du wissen
Inspired by France’s well-established reputation for agricultural products, the founder and his wife decided to try their hand at cheesemaking. The pair honed their craft at an old fromagerie in Pélussin (Loire), which gave them closer access to the Rhône Valley’s rich supply of milk. This surplus in raw materials, coupled with the founder’s passion for local products, ultimately pushed him to found his own fromagerie in 1981 – though rather than following standard protocol for cheese mongering, he had some ideas of his own.
Le Fromager by Fromager d’Affinois is a soft cheese with a bloomy rind made from double cream cow's milk. It is made in the heart of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region from milk and is enriched with cream, which gives it its melting texture. It comes in large 4.4 lbs wheels, therefore usually sold by the cut or in prepackaged formats.
